Synthetic Graphite Powder

Synthetic Graphite powder also called artificial graphite, it is a by-product of graphite electrode manufacturing. It is made by heating powdered petroleum coke above the temperature of graphitization, sometimes with minor modifications. The graphite scrap comes from pieces of unusable graphite electrode (in the manufacturing stage or after use) and lathe turnings, usually after crushing and sizing.

Most synthetic graphite powder goes to carbon raising in steel mainly used as carbon raiser, reducer, foundry modifier, fireproof etc, with some used in batteries and brake linings. It offers high purity, excellent lubricity and electrical conductivity.
